About Me

My name is Brandon Furey, and I am an American living in Innsbruck, Austria. I am a postdoc in physics at Universität Innsbruck. I enjoy being outdoors and like skiing, sailing, mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, via ferrata, canyoneering, kayaking, hiking, and backpacking.

I have successfully summited Patscherkofel (Austria, 7,369', winter 2022), Mt. of the Holy Cross (Colorado, 14,005', fall 2021), Quandary Peak (Colorado, 14,265', winter 2020), Castle Peak (Colorado, 14,278', solo in summer 2018), La Malinche (Mexico, 14,636', winter 2016), Mt. Sneffels (Colorado, 14,150', summer 2015), Mt. Elbert (Colorado, 14,433', fall 2016), Mt. Democrat (Colorado, 14,154', summer 2014), and Mt. Lincoln (Colorado, 14,295', summer 2014). I have also made attempts on Pico de Orizaba (Mexico, 18,491', winter 2016) and Snowmass Mountain (Colorado, 14,098', summer 2014, fall 2016, summer 2018), and climbed on Nevado de Toluca (Mexico, 15,354', winter 2016).

I am open to joining up with climbing groups and expeditions. Let me know if you are interested in a joint adventure.

I created this blog to document my adventures in the mountains, as well as the sea, sky, and other far-off lands. Please email me with the contact form if you have any questions or comments.
